چکیده

Citrus fruit’s appearance is the primary criterion used to assess its quality for fresh market, hence rind’s condition a crucial trait. Pre-harvest rind disorder one of major physiological problems in mandarins. The occurs right before harvest following rain events some Mandarin varieties. Despite economic damage caused by this kind disorder, very limited information available about molecular mechanisms underlying occurrence disorder. In present study, we evaluated metabolites, antioxidants, and hormones associated with pre-harvest Mandarins. study was carried out using ten-year-old ‘Owari’ Satsuma mandarin trees grafted on ‘Carrizo’ rootstock grown commercial orchard San Joaquin Valley, California, USA. Samples were collected from healthy tissue fruit (HF_HT), damaged (DF_HT), (DF_DT). Damaged (DF_HT DF_DT) showed lower cellulose concentrations than tissues however, had similar contents pectin hemicellulose. antioxidant activities no significant difference all paired comparisons between samples as expressed malondialdehyde (MDA) content. However, DF_DT higher H 2 O content compared HF_HT, but DF_HT that HF_HT. Furthermore, peroxidase (POD) polyphenol oxidase (PPO) increased HF_HT ( P = 0.0294) 0.0044), respectively. Targeted metabolomics analysis revealed total 76 metabolites identified tissues, relative 43 significantly different across studied samples. hormonal involvement jasmonate O-methyltransferase, jasmonic acid-amido synthetase JAR1-like, JA-isoleucine may key role causing addition, have level acid (JA), 12-oxo-phytodienoic acid, undamaged tissue.

Transcriptome and Metabolome Analyses Provide Insights into the Occurrence of Peel Roughing Disorder on Satsuma Mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc.) Fruit

Roughing disorder (RD) is a significant quality barrier in citrus fruit, prevalent on easy-peeling mandarins. As RD is not yet well-understood, this study aimed to examine the changes and synergic molecular processes involved in peel RD. Peel with RD was induced by severely defruiting Satsuma mandarin trees. Morphology observations, RNA-sequencing, and targeted and untargeted metabolic analyses...

Mitogenomic analyses provide new insights into cetacean origin and evolution.

The evolution of the order Cetacea (whales, dolphins, porpoises) has, for a long time, attracted the attention of evolutionary biologists. Here we examine cetacean phylogenetic relationships on the basis of analyses of complete mitochondrial genomes that represent all extant cetacean families. The results suggest that the ancestors of recent cetaceans had an explosive evolutionary radiation 30-...

Insights into the autistic disorder and potential therapeutic approaches

Autism and autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) such as Rett syndrome and Asperger syndromeare enigmatic and complex neurodevelopmental disorders, thought to have originated inparticular interactions of genetic and environmental factors. Despite the extensive research, exact mechanism of pathogenesis is not still completely understood. ASDs are characterizedby deficits and abnormalities in communica...

Metabolomic Analyses of Plasma Reveals New Insights into Asphyxia and Resuscitation in Pigs

BACKGROUND Currently, a limited range of biochemical tests for hypoxia are in clinical use. Early diagnostic and functional biomarkers that mirror cellular metabolism and recovery during resuscitation are lacking. We hypothesized that the quantification of metabolites after hypoxia and resuscitation would enable the detection of markers of hypoxia as well as markers enabling the monitoring and ...

Corrigendum: Temporal-Spatial Transcriptome Analyses Provide Insights into the Development of Petaloid Androecium in Canna indica

Canna indica (Zingiberales) is one of the most important ornamental species characterized with beautiful petaloid staminodes, which are considered to evolve from stamens. However, the genetic basis for the development of petaloid staminodes remains unclear largely because the genomic sequences are not available. By using RNA-Seq, we sequenced the transcripts in the flower of C. indica, and quan...
